New traffic layout at Red Cow roundabout

Motorists travelling through Ireland's most notorious traffic bottleneck will have to navigate a new road layout from this morning.

The changes have been introduced at the Red Cow roundabout, which is being upgraded as part of major construction work on the M50.

During the upgrade, traffic heading west on the N7 will have to transfer to a new temporary road through the LUAS car park.

Signals for the LUAS will also be changed to allow traffic to use Monastery Lane.

A 60km/h speed limit has been put in place and drivers have been warned that speed cameras will be in operation to ensure they comply with the restriction.
