Greens urge commitment on carbon emissions
The Green Party today urged all political parties in Ireland to commit to reducing the country's carbon emissions by 3% annually over the next 10 years as part of a strategy to tackle climate change.
Speaking the day before top UN scientists release a report on the impacts of climate change across the world, Green Party leader Trevor Sargent said: "The time for gestures, for greenwash and for party politicking on climate change is over.
