Winter vomiting bug hits Limerick hospital
Visiting restrictions have been put in place at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick following an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.
In a statement issued earlier today the HSE Mid West confirmed that seven cases has been reported in three different wards.
Strict precautions are now in place and the public is being asked to check with reception staff or contact the hospital before visiting.
Visits to the Accident and Emergency department should only be made if absolutely necessary.
According to a spokesman for the hospital, outpatient daycare services along with routine hospital admissions are not affected.
However, the public is been requested to co-operate fully with the advice and instruction of staff.
