The 24-year-old woman who was killed after her car collided with a fire engine, in dense fog on the M7 in County Kildare on Tuesday, will be laid to rest today.

Mother-of-one, Kate Moyles, died in hospital after the worst pile-up in the history of the state.

Her family have issued an appeal to motorists to slow down.

Last night more than 300 people gathered for the removal of her remains to St Conleth's Church in Newbridge.

"There's a need to slow down. There's no deadline or time-limit so desperate that we need to put our lives in danger when we go out on the road," said Father Ruairi O'Domhnail, Curate of Newbridge Parish.

"We don't just need to slow down on the roads, we need to slow down in life," he said.
