Government under fire following pensions delay revelation

The Government has come in for criticism from Age Action Ireland following the disclosure that 2,500 retired people are being left with no income and no state pension for up to a month.

The Department for Social Affairs said work was continuing to try and clear a backlog from last summer, when new computers were introduced.
