Teenager dies from injuries sustained in Leitrim accident

An 18-year-old man has died in hospital from injuries he sustained in a road accident in Co Leitrim on St Patrick's weekend.

Niall Higgins, from Drumshanbo in Leitrim, was walking near Carrick-on-Shannon when he was struck by a car in the early hours of Sunday, March 18.

He died in Beaumont hospital in Dublin on Saturday evening.
