Figures show slight improvement in cancer survival rates
Survival rates from most cancers have improved slightly in recent years, according to the latest statistics from the National Cancer Registry.
The organisation says an average of 20,500 cancer cases were recorded each year between 1994 and 2001, around 7,500 of which were fatal.
