Health service management has confirmed that expectant mothers in Galway are having to wait up to five months for their first scan.

Health service management has confirmed that expectant mothers in Galway are having to wait up to five months for their first scan.

Initial antenatal appointments are being given at between 16 and 20 weeks of pregnancy, compared to the recommended period of 12 to14 weeks.
