Man in critical condition after serious assault in Tralee

A man is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious assault in Co Kerry yesterday evening.

The 21-year-old was found lying on the ground on Brewery Road in Tralee yesterday evening after the attack some time between 6.15pm and 6.45pm.

Gardaí say the assault was carried out by a lone attacker who was around 6ft in height, with a blocky build, tight haircut, dark trousers and a navy jacket with stripes on the sleeve.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and any witnesses are being urged to come forward.
