Lorry driver taken to hospital after rail-bridge collision

A lorry driver has been rushed to hospital in Co Clare after his truck hit a railway bridge and overturned.

The accident happened on the main N18 Ennis-to-Galway road at Crusheen at around 8.15am.

The road has been closed and engineers from Iarnród Éireann are due to inspect the bridge, which has been out of service for a number of years, later this morning.

It is understood the lorry driver's injuries are not life-threatening.
