State facing major lawsuit over pre-1973 marriage ban

The State is reportedly facing a potential €200m increase in pension payouts as a result of a discrimination case from the National Women's Council.

Reports this morning say the council is threatening to take court action in Ireland and Europe over the lingering effects of the old civil service marriage ban.
