Man arrested in connection with Longford case

Gardai in Longford have confirmed that they are questioning a man in connection with a burglary that may be connected to the death of a young woman in the town during the weekend.

The man was detained yesterday in connection with a suspected burglary at an electrical shop in Kilashee Street.

The dead woman, who was in her late teens or early 20s, was found underneath a broken window at the back of the shop early yesterday morning.

Gardaí are investigating the possibility that she may have fallen to her death during a burglary.

A post mortem has been carried out on her body, but the results have not been disclosed.
