Divers continue canal search for missing Dublin teenager

Garda divers are due to continue their search of the Grand Canal today for the second of two 18-year-olds who went missing in the Clondalkin area at the weekend.

Earlier this week, the body of Shane Coughlan was recovered from the canal near Fonthill Road, but his friend David White is still missing.

The pair disappeared in the early hours of Sunday morning after leaving a house party in the area to buy cigarettes.

A post mortem has confirmed that Mr Coughlan's death was due to drowning, but it remains unclear how he ended up in the canal.
