Body recovered in canal search for missing Dublin youths

Gardaí searching for two missing 18-year-olds in Dublin have recovered a body from the Grand Canal in Clondalkin today.

A section of the canal on Fonthill Road was sealed off yesterday evening after a boot similar to that worn by one of the youths was found on the banks.

Shane Coughlan, from Mill Park in Clondalkin, and David White, from Carrigmore Avenue in Tallaght, haven't been seen since leaving a friends house to buy cigarettes in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The State Pathologist has been called to the scene of today's discovery, while gardaí are also continuing their search of the canal.
