A man injured in a serious mining accident in Co Kilkenny on Friday has died.

A man injured in a serious mining accident in Co Kilkenny on Friday has died.

The victim, 43-year-old mine-fitter Michael Joyce, sustained serious head injuries after falling through a safety railing on to some machinery, and was taken immediately to hospital.
