Teenagers will get an opportunity to have their say on road safety and attitudes to young people this afternoon.

They are the two main topics up for discussion at the annual Dail na nOg conference on in Croke Park.

Two hundred 12 to 17 year olds, elected from Comhairle na nOg across the country, will discuss the issues and vote on recommendations for action.

Minister for Children Brian Lenihan is delivering the opening speech at the event.

Dail na nOg chairperson Stephanie Kelly hopes he listens to their opinions.

"I think Dail na nOg is an excellent chance for younger people's voice to be heard," he said

"Hopefully the minister will listen to us and hopefully our motions will go forward."
