Second Aer Lingus union votes for strike action

Another trade union at Aer Lingus has voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action over the airline's plans to cut costs.

The decision by the craft group of unions, led by AMICUS, comes just two days after SIPTU's vote for industrial action - IMPACT members are also expected to follow suit.

AMICUS staff are angry about new contracts brought in by the airline, which - they say - undermine existing terms and conditions.

The union is also criticising Aer Lingus management for refusing to return to talks at the Labour Relations Commission.
