Rabbitte: Tax-cut proposal will not affect public services

The Labour Leader Pat Rabbitte is rejecting claims that a cut in the basic rate of income tax will mean less money for public services.

Mr Rabbitte made a commitment during his party's national conference at the weekend to cut the lower tax rate from 20% to 18%, if voted into government.
