DUP candidates required to sign promise on party rules

The DUP has confirmed that all its candidates in the upcoming Assembly election will be expected to sign a letter promising that they will resign if they break party rules.

However, the party has denied that it also intends to impose fines of up to £20,000 (€30,400) on any Assembly members who contravene discipline.
