An 80-year-old pedestrian was killed in a collision with a car, gardaí said tonight.

An 80-year-old pedestrian was killed in a collision with a car, gardaí said tonight.

The accident happened at Doogary, Kilkelly in Co Mayo on the main N17 road shortly after 7.30pm.

Gardaí based at Swinford are investigating.
