Killeen to seek ban on political interference in releases

Junior Minister Tony Killeen is reportedly set to ask his government colleagues to consider banning politicians from getting involved in the release of prisoners.

Mr Killeen has been at the centre of a storm of controversy in recent weeks after it emerged that he sought the early release of a convicted child rapist and a convicted murderer from his constituency.
