A Kildare truck driver has been cleared by direction of the judge at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court of dangerous driving causing the death of a pensioner two years ago.

Michael Dunne (aged 43) of Spratstown, Ballytore, denied dangerous driving at Grand Canal Place near the Guinness Brewery, on December 30, 2004, causing the death of 72-year-old cyclist John Hughes.
