Cyclist dies after being hit by car near Tralee

A cyclist in his 20s has died after being struck by a car near Tralee in Co Kerry yesterday evening.

The accident happened on the Dingle road just outside the town at around 6.30pm.

The victim was pronounced dead a short time later at Kerry General Hospital.

His death brings the total number of people killed on Ireland's roads so far this year to 15.
