Train collides with van at level crossing in Galway

A train on the main line from Dublin to Galway has collided with a van at a level crossing this morning.

A train on the main line from Dublin to Galway has collided with a van at a level crossing this morning.

The driver of the van was injured when his vehicle was struck by the 7.10am service from Dublin in Gurraun North in Co Galway just before 10am.

None of the 120 passengers on board the train were hurt and the van driver's injuries are not thought to be serious.

However, delays are expected to rail services in the area.
