Doctors accuse HSE of publishing misleading A&E figures

Doctors attached to the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine are disputing claims made by the Health Service Executive in relation to A&E waiting numbers.

Doctors attached to the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine are disputing claims made by the Health Service Executive in relation to A&E waiting numbers.

The association is accusing the HSE of playing around with the daily figures released on its website.

The IAEM says the number of people portrayed by the HSE to be waiting on hospital trolleys doesn't reflect the reality on the ground.

The HSE figures are almost always significantly lower than those released by the Irish Nurses Organisation as part of its Trolley Watch campaign.
