Thousands of homes suffer power cuts amid heavy storms

Thousands of homes in the north and north-west of the country were left without power this morning as a result of the stormy overnight conditions.

Around 6,000 homes in Co Donegal and Co Sligo were hit by blackouts, while 2,000 more were affected in Co Tyrone and Co Fermanagh.
