New scholarships for disadvantaged students

The top-performing Leaving Cert students from disadvantaged backgrounds are to receive scholarships next year under a new government-funded scheme.

Education Minister Mary Hanafin said today that up to 16 pupils would receive around €6,500 each next year to help support them through third-level courses.
