Appeal to identify and isolate racist incidents in North
A Sinn Féin MLA for South Belfast has appealed for the community to isolate racist incidents after a violent attack on a man in the south of the city.
Alex Maskey believes racism was the motive for the attack on the African man in his home in the Ormeau Road area.
He was taken to hospital after being assaulted and also being attacked by a dog.
Mr Maskey said it was an unprovoked racist attack and that those responsible needed to know that such racism would not be tolerated.
