Traffic improves after earlier delays at Dublin Port
Traffic has improved around the Point Depot roundabout in Dublin after another morning of delays caused by trucks avoiding the Port Tunnel.
Hundreds of hauliers once again added to rush hour congestion by choosing to drive through Dublin city centre rather than opt for the new route.
Jimmy Quinn from the Irish Road Haulage Association has said this is probably just due to force of habit.
“A lot of the guys that were coming off the ferries yesterday weren't in the country last week and on Sunday and Monday and they weren't aware of the brou-ha-ha surrounding the tunnel. As time goes on, people will become more aware of it.”
