Taoiseach hits out at coverage of payments controversy

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has hit out at the coverage of the controversy surrounding payments he received from wealthy friends in the early 1990s.

Asked today to sum up 2006 from his perspective, Mr Ahern claimed his treatment over the issue was "unfair" and he accused some people of operating an agenda aimed at tripping him up.
