Nine arrested after crowd trouble in Derry City

Two people were injured and nine arrests were made after a crowd began throwing bottles at police in Derry City.

One PSNI officer was injured when a bottle struck his head.

Eight men in their late teens and early twenties were arrested for public order offences shortly after 2am this morning at Shipquay Street.

A man in his late 20s was taken to hospital after suffering minor head injuries.

A man in his twenties was arrested in connection with that assault.
