Two charged with murder of Down pensioner in June

Police in the North have charged two people with the murder of Co Down pensioner Annie McCartan earlier this year.

The 75-year-old was found stabbed to death at her home in the Summer Hill area of Warrenpoint on June 15.

A 35-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were charged overnight with carrying out the murder and are due to appear in court in Newry later today.
