New Bill aims to deal with failure to meet Kyoto targets

Minister for the Environment Dick Roche is to put forward new legislation in the Dáil today dealing with the Government’s failure to meet Kyoto Protocol targets on reducing harmful emissions.

The Carbon Fund Bill will allow the Government to buy pollution credits to compensate for Ireland's over-production of greenhouse gases.
