The IRA was not involved in yesterday’s brutal killing of top drug baron Martin Hyland, the Taoiseach insisted today.

Even though the crime boss was allegedly linked to the Provisionals, Taoiseach Bertie Ahern said there was nothing to suggest that the terrorist organisation was linked to the hit.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
