Energy-related emissions up more than 50% since 1990

The amount of energy-related carbon waste released into the atmosphere last year was up more than 50% on the 1990 level, according to new figures out today.

Sustainable Energy Ireland says energy use in Ireland resulted in 47 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions in 2005.
