Sinn Féin says dissident republicans planned to assassinate Gerry Adams recently, but called off the attack due to his security arrangements.

The party says the police have informed Mr Adams that dissidents were planning to shoot him, but were forced to cancel the plot due to the tight security surrounding the Sinn Féin president.
