Dublin shootings leave two men in hospital

Two men were taken to hospital after separate shooting incidents within half an hour of each other in Dublin city last night.

The first shooting happened on Coburg Place off Amiens St in the north inner city just after 8pm last night.

A man in his 20s was shot in the chest and removed to the Mater hospital for treatment.

Gardaí have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, just over a half hour later, a number of shots were fired at Annamoe Parade off the new Cabra Road in Phibsboro.

When called to the scene, gardaí found blood-stained clothing and several bullet casings.

A garda spokesperson confirmed late last night that a man was shot in the arm in the incident, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
