Irish official back in Belfast after death threat scare

An Irish Government official whose life was threatened by loyalist paramilitaries has resumed work in Belfast.

Aine de Baroid, a senior civil servant with the Department of Foreign Affairs, was transferred to Dublin in August after the PSNI learned loyalists were targeting her.

She had been involved in outreach work with both the loyalist and republican communities.

The threat to her life is believed to have come from a breakaway faction of the UDA.
