Army bomb unit removes grenade for safe detonation

A grenade that was thrown through a window into a house in Limerick today, has been removed for safe detonation by the army bomb disposal unit.

A grenade that was thrown through a window into a house in Limerick today, has been removed for safe detonation by the army bomb disposal unit.

The device was hurled through the window of a home in O'Malley Park in the South Hill area just before midday.

No-one was in the house at the time, but a number of neighbouring homes were evacuated.

No-one was injured in the incident.
