Pedestrian dies after road accident in Cork

A 43-year-old male pedestrian has been killed in a road crash in Cork.

He was struck by a taxi close to White's Cross on the Ballyhooly Road shortly before half four this morning.

The man was rushed to Cork University Hospital following the accident, but he died several hours later.
