Elderly man dies in Tipperary road accident

A man in his 70s has died following a two-car collision in Co Tipperary last night.

The victim was driving a car which was in collision with another vehicle at Whitefield on the Thurles-to-Templemore road just after 10pm.

The man was taken to Nenagh Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Four other people were injured in the crash, though not seriously.
