Kerry priest set upon after annual bazaar
A Co Kerry priest is being treated in hospital after he was attacked at his home outside Tralee last night.
The priest, who is in his late 60s, was set upon as he got out of his car at the presbytery just after 9pm.
He had just returned from the annual bazaar at the local community centre in Ballymacelligott.
Gardaí said the priest was struck several times on the head and arms with a bladed object.
He managed to raise the alarm at a neighbour's house, and was taken to Kerry General Hospital.
The scene is sealed off this morning and a garda investigation is underway.
