Disabled woman robbed in her Down home
Politicians and police say they are disgusted after a 59-year-old disabled woman was robbed in her Co Down home.
The woman, who uses a wheelchair, was robbed yesterday evening in her house in Bangor.
Two men confronted the woman in her home last night with one holding her down while the other ransacked the house.
The men then made off with a handbag containing a sum of money. The bag was later recovered by police.
Although unhurt, the woman was left seriously shocked.
DUP assembly member Alex Easton condemned the robbers saying their actions were "depraved, sick and beneath contempt".
He asked how people who carried out such acts could sleep at night and said they must be devoid of conscience and humanity.
