Man dies after falling from Rosslare to Pembroke ferry

A man has died after falling overboard a ferry travelling from Rosslare to the Welsh port of Pembroke in the early hours of this morning.

The man was seen falling overboard the Irish Ferries vessel Isle of Inishmore just before 1am.

A search, involving seven port vessels and an RAF helicopter was launched and the man was rescued from the water after two hours.

He was taken by the rescue helicopter to a hospital in Haverfordwest, but was later pronounced dead.
