Firefighters attacked by gunman in North
Firefighters have been shot at as they returned to their base in the North.
A gunman blasted the fire engine in Londonderry with a laser-sighted air rifle, cracking a cab window.
No-one was injured in the attack on the team from the city's Northland Road station just before 11pm last night.
But the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service hit out at the thugs targeting staff.
A spokesman said,
``We would like to highlight the dangers and seriousness of this attack and would appeal to the local community that if they have any information on
this attack to make it known to the police.”
