Car crash victim named

The man who died in a car crash in Galway City yesterday afternoon has been named locally as Brendan Madden.

Mr Madden, who was in his mid 70's, was driving on St Enda's Road in Shantalla at about 2.30pm yesterday afternoon when his car collided with a number of parked cars.

He was taken to University College Hospital Galway where he was later pronounced dead.
