Ex-boyfriend for trial on murder charge

The ex-boyfriend of a murdered teenage waitress will be sent for trial today at the Central Criminal Court, charged with her murder.

Thomas Kennedy, (aged 21), of Russell Heights, Cobh, Co Cork, was charged with Sheola Keaney's murder in July.

Nineteen-year-old Sheola had gone missing three days earlier after she was last seen at a house party in the seaside town.

The teenager lived at Glenanaar, in Cobh, with her mother, who raised the alarm after she failed to return home.
