Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is playing down reports that the Government is to make €1bn in aid available for the North.

Speaking in Bodenstown in Co Kildare, Mr Ahern wouldn't confirm the €1bn figure, but hinted that money will be offered for projects in disadvantaged regions.
