Margaret Walsh investigation upgraded to murder inquiry
Gardaí in Waterford have upgraded their investigation into the death of Margaret Walsh to a murder inquiry.
The move follows a post mortem examination which found the 35-year-old had suffered severe trauma to the upper body.
Ms Walsh's naked body was recovered from the River Suir in Waterford yesterday afternoon.
She had been reported missing two weeks ago after apparently expressing concern for her personal safety.
Her car was found abandoned a few days later around 2.5kms from her home.
Gardaí said today that no motive had yet been established for the 35-year-old’s killing and they were still looking to speak to anyone who may have information about the case.
A reconstruction is due to be staged later this evening as part of the investigation.
