The Fianna Fail-Progressive Democrats coalition has reportedly topped the poll in a survey of farmers attending the National Ploughing Championships recently.

The Irish Independent says it questioned more than 1,200 farmers at the event about what Government they would like to see after the next election.

Almost one-third said they would support the FF-PD coalition, while 28% said they believed a Fine Gael-Labour Government would best serve farmers' interests.

Just 18% also said they would like to see Fianna Fáil governing on its own, however.
